We bought our first "real show prospect" from Amnie Ewing,
(previously Deserthills..now Windhills). Amnie has provided a
wealth of information and has forgotten more than most of us will
ever know about Aussies. We sincerely thank her for her friendship,
her help and for Sandylands Night Blossom TT, CD.
Blossom had 12 major conformation points, and a Temperament Title, CD,
and completed protection training. She was a brilliant individual
who showed us how Aussies are unique in their ability to use reason
and logic beyond commands.
Rocky & Britches
Denise & Jasper (1979)Our first "homebred" Champion was Ch.Sandylands On The Rocksby Ch.Deserhills Rock Salt X Sandylands Night Blossom. Rockygrew up with our oldest son. He was competitive in the show ring and always a great family member. He was winners dog at the Nationals(back when IASA and ASCA had their shows together). His showcareer accumulated many Best of Breed awards, ending with a beautiful pen and ink head sketch as the BOB award. At the age of 10, Rockywon BOB over 22 specials. We looked for a "wife" for Rocky and found Ch.Davlins Fanci Feather Britches OTDd,STDs.She was 8 months old when she joined our family. Britches finished hr championship in 3 weekends.She had natural working abilities and with very little training on our part, achieved her workingtitles. We loved her for 15 years.

Ch. Sandylands Jungle Jim (Ch. Jimmee Blue of Adelaide x Ch.Davlins Fanci Feather Britches) Jay was an outstanding individual. He completed his Championship from large shows. He was a favorite among exhibitors as well as our family until his tragic death.
Sandylands Poppy Seed(Ch. Sandylands Jungle Jim x Sandylands Copper Penny)was Leslies first junior showmanship dog. Although Poppy did not enjoy the show ring, she performed well with Leslie and they won many awards together.
